How can we help?
Getting started
How do I install AHX?
Add it from the Chrome Web Store, pin it to the toolbar, open any website and click the AHX icon. The side panel opens next to the page.
Why does AHX ask for access to a site?
Chrome asks your permission per website before an extension can read its pages. Click “Allow on this site” once for each site you want to check. AHX only reads pages; it never changes them.
Do I need an account?
No. Page checks, including accessibility, work without an account. Sign in with Google to see your Search Console and Analytics data, audit whole sites and keep your reports.
Does it work on localhost and staging?
Yes. Development copies are recognised automatically, and you can map one to your live site in Settings to see the live site’s Google data while you work.
Site audits
How do I audit a whole site?
Open the site in Chrome and click Audit full site in the side panel, or start one from the dashboard. Audits run on our server, so you can close the tab.
Which sites can I audit?
Sites you manage in Google Search Console. AHX checks your access with Google before every audit. To audit a client’s site, ask them to add your Google account in Search Console, then link that account in Settings.
My audit was blocked by a firewall
Your firewall or Cloudflare stopped our crawler. Allow AHXBot by its IP address and user agent, or create a scan key on the audit page. Step-by-step instructions are on the AHXBot page.
Why are some numbers marked as a sample?
Google limits how many pages can be checked with URL Inspection each day, and accessibility checks load pages in a real browser, so both use a sample of pages of every type. The report always says how many were checked.
Accessibility checks
What does AHX check?
WCAG 2.2 A and AA rules with axe-core, the engine inside Google Lighthouse: missing image descriptions, low-contrast text, unlabelled buttons and form fields, broken ARIA, heading order and more. Each problem comes with who it affects and how to fix it.
Is this a compliance certificate?
No. Automated checks find only some accessibility problems. A full review needs a person testing with a keyboard and a screen reader. AHX helps you find and fix the problems tools can detect.
How do the keyboard order and colour previews work?
In the side panel, open Issues, then Accessibility. “Show on page” numbers every stop the Tab key reaches. “See the page as” shows the page with common colour-vision types or at 200% zoom; “Normal” puts it back.
Plans and billing
What does Pro include?
10 sites, 60 site audits a month of up to 2,000 pages, 30 AI investigations, 100 tracked keywords, white-label reports and higher daily limits, for $12 a month or $120 a year. See every limit.
How does the free trial work?
Monthly Pro starts with 3 days free. You add a card at checkout and aren’t charged until the trial ends. Cancel before then from your billing page and you pay nothing. One trial per account.
How do I cancel, change plan or get an invoice?
Everything is on Plan and billing in the dashboard: cancel or resume, switch between monthly and yearly, update your card, and download every invoice.
Can I get a refund?
Payments are not refunded, including for unused time. If you were charged right after a trial you forgot to cancel and haven’t used Pro since, email us within 7 days and we’ll refund you. Details are in the Terms.
Who processes payments?
Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and merchant of record. They handle your card or PayPal payment, add sales tax or VAT where it applies, and send your invoices. AHX never sees your card number.
Your data and Google access
What Google access does AHX use?
Read-only access to Search Console and, if you connect it, Google Analytics. AHX never changes anything in your Google accounts. You can remove access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
How do I delete my account?
In the extension, open Settings and choose “Delete my account and data”. Everything is removed from our servers straight away and from backups within 30 days. Any Pro subscription is cancelled first.
Where can I read more?
Our privacy policy and terms explain what we store, why, and your rights.
